Currently, the shop has a variety of hand held tools available for machining. In addition to this we also offer a hand drills and an assortment of drill bits.
A collection of machining tools will be available for student use in the future, provided the student completes the required in-house training. No external courses will be needed to access the equipment listed below.
150W laser cutters with 32″×18″/48″×24″ (PLS6.150D/ILS12.150D) platforms. Can be used to cut organic materials including acrylic, wood and cardboard based on vector images.
An abrasive waterjet with 30,000 psi pump pressure. Can cut materials like metal, glass and wood less than 1″ thick in a 12″ by 12″ cutting area.
Maximum injection volume of 4 oz. and a maximum injection pressure of 12,000 psi.
A vacuum former that can be used to produce permanent plastic objects from a sheet of plastic using single-sided molds. 482 mm by 432 mm forming area.
1/1.5 hp (770/1100) CNC mills with enclosure and automatic tool changers. Can be used to mill a variety of materials including aluminum, light metals and plastic.
A desktop CNC router with a 3 hp spindle and a 24″ by 36″ cutting area. A 24 piece set of router bits will also be available.
2-axis automatic surface grinder to achieve precise tolerances and smooth surface finishes.
1.75 HP cabinet saw equipped with Sawstop technology and a 2.25 HP Bosch router table.
